Grolsch – In search of the Unicorn
In this project, Grolsch FilmWorks handpicks young avant-garde filmmakers together with film production company MIKE TEEVEE and hands them stories about real unconventional thinkers, to create a new take on the ‘documentary film’ category. The mission is to capture unconventional thinking with a purpose.
This film will feature as its unconventional thinker Amsterdam renaissance man Colin Vlaar. A skater, surfer, DJ and owner of clothing brand ‘Do Ya Feng’. Last but not least, he is co-owner and founder of the first skate-cafe in Europe.
Each film will be curated by a well-established filmmaker. He will help select the unconventional thinker and the avant-garde filmmakers, and coach them throughout the project.
The first celebrity curator is Steven Berkoff: a name well-known in and outside the film industry. Steven has played roles in films as diverse as Rambo and Octopussy. He is someone with experience in and a love for coaching as well as having a broad and unconventional track record in both film and theatre directing.
The first film has been shot and directed by Giancarlo Sanchez from film production company CZAR. Giancarlo is a well-known name in the Dutch film community, especially after winning the prestigious ‘Gouden Kalf’ Dutch academy film award for his debut film Horizon.
Leading up to the premiere of the film on Facebook. 9 behind-the-scene videos were created which were released on the Grolsch Global facebook channel to give a glimpse of the project.
The campaign ran in Argentina, Canada, United Kingdom and Romania of Facebook only and Wunderman was there to help the client from idea to execution of the whole project.
